Mr. Bennett was admitted to practice in 1972. His experience includes clerking for a federal district judge in Chicago, serving as a trial attorney with the Federal Trade Commission in Washington and as an associate with the Washington law firm of Stein, Mitchell & Mezines. He started his own practice in 1976. Joel has served as a member of the steering committee of the Labor and Employment Law section of the District of Columbia Bar and the chair of that bar's Litigation section. He has also served as a board member of the Metropolitan Employment Lawyers Association. Joel is a past chair of the Law Practice Management section of the American Bar Association and a past president of the Bar Association of the District of Columbia. He was the co-founder and first chair of the Law Practice Management Section of the District of Columbia Bar.
